Welcome Saints to the new format of Today’s Worship. Any comments and suggestions are welcome.
1 Why are the nations so angry?
Why do they waste their time with futile plans?
2 The kings of the earth prepare for battle;
the rulers plot together
against the Lord
and against his anointed one.
3 “Let us break their chains,” they cry,
“and free ourselves from slavery to God.”
4 But the one who rules in heaven laughs.
The Lord scoffs at them.
5 Then in anger he rebukes them,
terrifying them with his fierce fury.
6 For the Lord declares, “I have placed my chosen king on the throne
in Jerusalem, on my holy mountain.”
7 The king proclaims the Lord’s decree:
“The Lord said to me, ‘You are my son.
Today I have become your Father.
8 Only ask, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance,
the whole earth as your possession.
9 You will break them with an iron rod
and smash them like clay pots.’”
10 Now then, you kings, act wisely!
Be warned, you rulers of the earth!
11 Serve the Lord with reverent fear,
and rejoice with trembling.
12 Submit to God’s royal son, or he will become angry,
and you will be destroyed in the midst of all your activities—
for his anger flares up in an instant.
But what joy for all who take refuge in him!
Unless you’ve been hiding your head in the sand for the last little while, you may have noticed there is a war on Christianity. You can believe in anything and it’s cool, but if you are a Christian you are basically told to sit down and shut up. The Atheist, homosexual, and feminist movements have become militant in trying to remove anything remotely related to Christianity from society. We’ve become the butt of jokes on late night television and portrayed as nut jobs in many movies and TV shows. More Christians are persecuted and even killed for their faith than ever before in history. The reason they rage against us is not because of us, but whom we represent. Their war is with God and His Son Jesus Christ. They want to be their own masters and yet have become slaves to satan in their foolishness. The day is coming and is very soon when the Father will tell the Son that it is time.
Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war. 12 His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns. A name was written on him that no one understood except himself. 13 He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed him on white horses. 15 From his mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress. 16 On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.
17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, shouting to the vultures flying high in the sky: “Come! Gather together for the great banquet God has prepared. 18 Come and eat the flesh of kings, generals, and strong warriors; of horses and their riders; and of all humanity, both free and slave, small and great.”
19 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the world and their armies gathered together to fight against the one sitting on the horse and his army. 20 And the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who did mighty miracles on behalf of the beast—miracles that deceived all who had accepted the mark of the beast and who worshiped his statue. Both the beast and his false prophet were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulphur. 21 Their entire army was killed by the sharp sword that came from the mouth of the one riding the white horse. And the vultures all gorged themselves on the dead bodies. Revelation 19:11-21
It’s a terrifying scene. God loves humanity and is not willing that anyone should perish. Since the fall of Adam He has been reaching out to restore the relationship that was lost. In Christ’s sacrifice He made a way for that to happen. It is up to you to decide. He loved you enough to send Jesus as a servant who died for you that you may know the Father’s love. The next time Jesus comes to earth it will be as a warrior and conqueror. At that time the word says in Philippians 2:10-11 “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. I know that I would rather bow my knee to Jesus now willingly because of His love and all He has done for me than be forced to my knees as a vanquished foe. What about you?

If you take care of yourself and walk with integrity, you may be confident that God will deal with those who sin against you. Above all, don’t give birth to sin yourself; rather, pray for those who persecute you. God will one day turn your persecution into praise. – Warren Wiersbe
