Today’s Bible Reading & Verse
This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life. 1 Timothy 1:15-16
Today’s Song Story
Hosanna Loud Hosanna
This hymn was written by Jennette Threfall a century and a half ago. If you had known Jennette, you might have pitied her, because as a child she was orphaned and as an adult she suffered an accident that rendered her an invalid. But the people around her knew her, not for her handicap, but for her cheerful nature. She was a woman of deep faith who expressed that faith through her poetry. In her song, "Hosanna, Loud Hosanna," she invites us to celebrate again the coming of Jesus into Jerusalem in his Triumphal Entry.

1. Hosanna, loud hosanna, the little children sang;
through pillared court and temple the joyful anthem rang.
To Jesus, who had held them close folded to his breast,
the children sang their praises, the simplest and the best.
2. From Olivet they followed amid the shouting crowd,
the victor palm branch waving and chanting clear and loud;
Messiah, God’s anointed, rode there in humble state,
‘Hosanna, in the highest!’ rang out their praises great.
3. ‘Hosanna in the highest!’ that ancient song we sing,
for Christ is our Redeemer, the Lord of heaven our King.
Oh may we ever praise him with heart and life and voice,
and in God’s joyful presence eternally rejoice!
