Today’s Scripture & Thought
I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hell and of Death. Revelations 1:18 NKJV
We live in dark days. In all my 59 years here on earth I can’t remember a time like this. It was prophesied in Isaiah;
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes,
And prudent in their own sight!
Woe to men mighty at drinking wine,
Woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drink,
Who justify the wicked for a bribe,
And take away justice from the righteous man! Isaiah 5:20-23
Sin is now tolerated and even celebrated in the streets. They are even proud of it. Churches and pastors have turned from righteousness simply because if they don’t they will lose their standing in society. They have compromised and allowed those who mock God to preach from their pulpits and lead the sheep astray. If a Christian dare stand for righteousness they are shouted down and mocked for being behind the times. We are declared as not being tolerant. Anything righteous or holy is now derided and torn down in the media. Christians are now even losing their jobs if they don’t agree with a sinful lifestyle. In colleges and universities you can start any kind of group in celebration of any perversion you choose, but never a Christian group.
In Africa and the Middle East, Muslims have declared war on Christians and Jews. They have wiped out whole Christian communities and destroyed churches and synagogues that have stood for centuries, yet the media in the West and even the US administration barely mention the plight of Christians suffering around the world. More Christians are now dying for their faith in Christ than ever before. Isis has expressed it’s desire to have a world free of Christians and Jews. To be more precise, they want a world where everyone becomes a Muslim on pain of death, but the reserve a special hatred for Christians and Jews.
These things should not upset us. More than any other day this is the one that Christians should be celebrating. 2000 years ago Jesus defeated the enemy once and for all time.
Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. Colossians 2:15
In the cross, the devil thought he had defeated the Son of God, but he was oh so wrong. He had been tricked into doing God’s bidding. Oh how frustrated he must have been when he discovered this had been God’s plan all along for the redemption of mankind. Jesus humiliated him and took back the keys of hell and death. Don’t be mistaken, the enemy still thinks he can win which is why he is raging all the more against the church and Israel, but he cannot win. God has given us the victory.
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57
But not only that Romans 8 reminds us;
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:31-39
This Easter let your Joy be full. Christ return is nearer than ever before. In the midst of all this darkness, the Light of World shines all the more brighter. At the same time many more are being martyred for Christ there are also an even higher number that are turning their lives over to Jesus. There are reposts of revivals happening all over the world. Muslims are turning to Christ in the tens of thousands. Remember also that because he is the Light, you are the bearer of His light and now is the time to let it shine all the more brighter.
25 “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring;26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” Luke 21:25-28
Rejoice oh child of God you are blessed, keep serving with joy. It won`t be long now until the One who brought us the victory will be bring us to Him and there we will live forever.
Have a happy Resurrection Day!
